I Created the World’s Best English Pronunciation Tool

english fluency Jun 09, 2026

Most English pronunciation tools give you a score. Some show you which words you pronounced incorrectly. But that is often where the feedback ends.

Over the last four months, I have been building an AI English pronunciation feedback tool that goes much deeper. It analyzes individual sounds, word stress, rhythm, linking, and the natural flow of your speech. It also gives you clear advice on what to improve the next time you practice.

I think it may be the best English pronunciation feedback tool available right now. In the video below, I show you exactly how it works.

Main idea: Pronunciation practice becomes much more effective when you have a clear feedback loop: learn, record yourself, identify specific problems, practice the right areas, and try again.

Why is pronunciation practice difficult without feedback?

You can watch lessons, repeat after a teacher, and practice difficult sounds by yourself. But there is a basic problem: how do you know whether you are actually getting it right?

You may notice obvious mistakes. You may hear that your speech sounds unclear. But it is much harder to identify subtle issues, such as adding an extra vowel sound after a final consonant, stressing the wrong syllable, or pausing too much between words.

These small problems can make your English sound less natural, even when your grammar and vocabulary are strong.

What does the AI pronunciation tool analyze?

The tool gives you a score out of 100, but the score is only the starting point. The useful part is the detailed breakdown.

Area analyzed What the tool identifies
Individual sounds Incorrect vowels, consonants, and consonant clusters.
Word stress Syllables that are stressed too strongly, too weakly, or in the wrong place.
Rhythm Speech that sounds too blocky, flat, or uneven.
Linking and flow Places where words should connect more smoothly in a sentence.
Added or missing sounds Extra vowel sounds, dropped sounds, and unclear endings.

You can also listen to individual words, replay your original recording, and compare your version with a native pronunciation example. The native recording can be slowed down for careful listening and shadowing practice.

How accurate is the pronunciation score?

Some pronunciation tools seem designed to avoid giving you a perfect score. Even when your pronunciation is strong, the score may stay slightly lower to encourage you to continue practicing. I wanted this tool to work differently. If the pronunciation is genuinely accurate, you should be able to get a perfect score. If the score is low, the feedback should explain why.

In the video, I intentionally read a passage badly. I added sounds at the ends of words, used unnatural rhythm, and made several pronunciation mistakes. The tool gave the recording a score of 45 out of 100.

I then read the same passage naturally. The second attempt received a score of 100. I have tested it extensively. It is very accurate.

Example feedback from the weaker recording:

Sound issue: Some TH sounds were pronounced more like Z sounds.

Word-ending issue: Extra vowel sounds were added after final consonants.

Flow issue: The rhythm sounded too blocky because the words were not linking smoothly.

Practice next: Focus on the position of the tongue for TH, cut off the air after final consonants, and practice connecting short groups of words.

What makes the AI coach useful?

A technical score is useful, but most learners also need a clear explanation. That is why the tool includes an AI coach. This is my favorite part of the whole thing. The coach explains the biggest issues in your recording, gives examples of what you sounded like, and tells you what to change. It does not only say that a word was wrong. It explains the pattern behind the mistake.

For example, when I intentionally replaced several TH sounds with S or Z sounds, the coach explained that the tip of the tongue should come slightly between the front teeth. It then explained how to push the air out continuously.

A useful pronunciation coach should tell you:

  • What went wrong: The exact sound, word, or rhythm problem.
  • What you sounded like: A clear comparison that helps you hear the difference.
  • Why it happened: The habit or mouth position causing the mistake.
  • What to do next: A practical adjustment for your next attempt.

Can you create your own pronunciation challenges?

There are two versions of the tool. One version is connected directly to my pronunciation course. After completing a lesson, you can practice the same material and get detailed feedback on your recording.

There is also a standalone version that allows you to create a custom challenge. You can paste in your own text or tell the tool what you are struggling with.

For example, you could ask for a challenge focused on:

  • Connecting words smoothly
  • Pronouncing the TH sound
  • Improving word stress
  • Practicing difficult consonant clusters
  • Building a more natural rhythm

The tool then creates a practice passage designed to test those specific areas. After you record yourself, it gives you a score, a detailed analysis, and feedback from the AI coach. You can use that standalone version here, with limitations on usage.

What is the most effective pronunciation practice loop?

The best way to improve English pronunciation is not to repeat the same text again and again without knowing what to fix. You need a focused feedback loop.

Use this practice loop:

  1. Learn the sound, rhythm pattern, or pronunciation habit.
  2. Read a passage aloud and record yourself.
  3. Review your score and identify the biggest issues.
  4. Listen to the AI coach explain what to change.
  5. Compare your recording with the native version.
  6. Practice the difficult parts slowly.
  7. Record the same passage again.

This is how you build better habits. You learn, practice, get feedback, make a specific adjustment, and try again.

What are the limitations of AI pronunciation feedback?

No AI tool is perfect. Pronunciation feedback should be treated as a practical guide, not as an unquestionable judgment about your English.

Keep these limitations in mind:

  • A score is useful for tracking progress, but it should not become the only goal.
  • Accents are not automatically mistakes. The aim is clear, natural communication.
  • Microphone quality, background noise, and recording conditions can affect the analysis.
  • AI feedback works best when it is connected to structured learning and repeated practice.

How can you access the AI pronunciation tool?

The complete version of the tool is included in my pronunciation course. That course is also part of English Fluency in 90 Days, a structured program designed to help you improve your speaking, writing, confidence, and overall fluency.

The tool is not just an extra feature added to the course. It is part of the learning process. You study a lesson, practice what you learned, receive detailed feedback, and then make another attempt.

FAQ

What does the AI English pronunciation tool analyze?

It analyzes individual vowels and consonants, word stress, rhythm, linking, sentence flow, added sounds, and unclear word endings. It also gives you an overall score and detailed coaching feedback.

Can the pronunciation tool give you a perfect score?

Yes. If your pronunciation is accurate and natural, the tool can give you a score of 100. The goal is to make the score reflect your actual recording rather than artificially lowering it.

Can I practice my own text?

Yes. The standalone version allows you to paste in your own text or generate a challenge based on specific areas you want to improve, such as the TH sound, word stress, or linking.

Is the tool included in English Fluency in 90 Days?

Yes. The complete version is included as part of the pronunciation course inside English Fluency in 90 Days.
